On October 12th 2016 the True Grist Homebrew Club held its very first meeting. The meeting was held in Justin Angevaare’s garage, where he had just put together a new electric brewery.

Over 20 members showed up to the meeting where future club events were discussed and many samples shared. Amongst those samples we were treated to an imperial stout that was aged for nearly 5 years. There was beer which was brewed with fresh sumac berries, and another with fresh ghost chili peppers. Members had the opportunity to try many different hop combinations in the IIPAs, IPAs, APAs, and the hoppy saisons that were brought to the meeting. Overall it was an incredibly varied and an informative tasting.

The meeting allowed us to sort out some of the logistics of our Fall cider bulk buy, and discuss the prospect of an advent calendar beer swap in December. Members can look forward to our next, soon to be announced meeting in November!
