True Grist held a special meeting in December at SFBC. At this meeting we recapped the year, spoke about what’s to come, AND raised $1000 for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region!

Our monthly meeting was once again hosted by our friends at Rhythm and Brews in Cambridge. At this meeting we had an excellent guest presentation from Renée Navarro about diversity in homebrewing, and what we can do as a club and as individuals to encourage diversity in our hobby. Thank you Renée!

Wellington Brewery x True Grist competition results

Welly Caskfest is an annual cask beer festival held by Wellington Brewery in Guelph. For 2018 True Grist has been invited to collaborate on a cask. To determine what exactly we would brew for this cask we decided to hold a quick internal competition.

2018 True Brewer Registration is Open!

Our annual True Brewer Competition is a combined holiday bottle exchange and internal homebrew competition that determines the holder of the True Brewer title for the following year. Registration for the 2018 True Brewer competition is now open (until September 28th, 2018).

June 2018 Meeting, Internal club competition with Wellington Brewery

The club returned to Rhythm and Brews in Cambridge on June 13th for our monthly meeting. This was our first visit since Rhythm and Brews had their soft opening in May, and members were glad to finally be able to order a pint from the tap rom and take some bottles home from the brewery that has supported us so much in 2018.

True Grist Builds a Jockey Box

Last week the True Grist Executive gathered to discuss future club events, to share some homebrew, and to put together a jockey box. We were successful in all three of these regards.

2018 Hop Buy Wrap Up

True Grist ran it’s 2nd annual hop bulk buy with Chilliwack hops this Spring. In total, 291 lbs of hops across 47 varieties were ordered by 44 different Full Members, all of which arrived last week at this year’s sorting and distribution centre – Short Finger Brewing Company.
